OLYMPUS CV-1500 2020

OLYMPUS

CV-1500 2020

The Olympus CV-1500 combines an LED light source and video processor in one compact unit. It adds TXI, RDI, and BAI-MAC imaging alongside NBI and AFI, connects via One-Touch Connector, and stores presets for 20 users.

Overview

The CV-1500 is the video system center of Olympus's EVIS X1 line. It combines the LED light source and video processor into a single unit, smaller and lighter than the earlier combination of an EVIS EXERA III or EVIS LUCERA ELITE light source with a separate processor.

Observation Modes

Beyond standard white light, the CV-1500 supports five observation modes:

  • NBI (Narrow Band Imaging)
  • AFI (Auto Fluorescence Imaging)
  • TXI (Texture and Color Enhancement Imaging) – adjusts the structure, color tone, and brightness of the mucosal surface
  • RDI (Red Dichromatic Imaging) – improves visibility of deep blood vessels and bleeding points
  • BAI-MAC (Brightness Adjustment Imaging with Maintenance of Contrast) – brightens darker areas of the image while keeping contrast

NBI, RDI, AFI, and TXI each require an endoscope compatible with that specific mode.

Setup and Controls

  • One-Touch Connector for endoscope connection
  • No white balance adjustment needed with Olympus 1100/1200/1500 series endoscopes
  • Touch-sensitive control panel
  • Pre-freeze: selects the sharpest image from the period just before the freeze command
  • MyCV mode: switches several function settings at once
  • LED bulbs rated to last years without replacement
  • Settings for up to 20 users can be stored

Endoscope Compatibility

  • Connects to a range of Olympus endoscopes via the One-Touch Connector
  • Olympus 1100/1200/1500 series endoscopes skip the white balance step entirely; the setting is retained in memory
  • NBI, RDI, AFI, and TXI observation each require an endoscope built to support that specific mode
  • Applied-part electric shock protection follows the endoscope connected: BF type when the mounting part is BF type (CF type endoscopes aren't supported in this combination)
